How Riley handles what you share
The plain-English version. You're often here at a vulnerable moment - here's exactly what happens to the things you tell Riley, in words that don't need a lawyer.
It's stored in your account - for you
Your conversations, check-ins, dates, and progress live in your account so Riley can remember you and pick up where you left off. That memory is the point - it's what lets her actually know you instead of starting over every time. It belongs to you.
How Riley "thinks"
To reply, Riley sends the content of your conversation to an AI provider (Anthropic), which generates her response and sends it back. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, your messages are not used to train their AI models. The reply comes back to you and is saved in your history. So Riley can recall the memory that actually fits what you are saying, memories are also turned into a numeric fingerprint by OpenAI, whose terms likewise do not allow training on your content.
What we will never do
- Never sold. We do not sell your personal information. Full stop.
- Never used for ads. We don't build advertising profiles or share your data for cross-context ad targeting.
- Never a performance to be judged. Your hard days are data we use to support you - nothing else.
- Never read by a person, except for safety. Nobody sits and reads your conversations. The one exception is when our safety checks flag a message as a serious risk: an alert with part of that conversation goes to a person on our team, so a human knows. That is the only time - here is exactly what it contains. Riley is not watched around the clock, so please never rely on her to get help to you: call or text 988, or call 911.
You can delete it - really delete it
From your account settings you can export or permanently delete everything, anytime. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data. The one exception is safety: if there was ever a crisis moment, a limited record may be kept for follow-up and legal reasons, de-identified once your profile is gone - never for ads, never sold. Your export includes your profile and everything tied to your account; if any one part of it is unusually large we cut that part at 5,000 entries and tell you which, so you can ask us for the rest.
The short version: stored in your account, processed by an AI to answer you, never sold, never used for ads, read by a person only if a safety check flags serious risk, and deletable whenever you want.
